Do Not Worry. God Will Take Care Of You!
“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.“ (Matthew 6:30-34, The Message)
We can worry so much it can reach the point where it causes all kinds of health issues and mind games to consume us. When we look at this familiar passage, we should take a moment to self reflect and ask a few simple questions from time to time.
Why do I worry about everything? Do I worry about how to make ends meet from day to day? Do I worry about my children and family all the time? Do I worry so much that it interferes with my everyday life?
If yes was the answer, stop and remember the Most High God has given us life and life more abundantly! And if God has given us life, the greater gift, doesn’t it make sense that He will supply all of our needs, which is the lesser gift? Think about it for a moment. God wakes us up every day without an alarm clock. We do not need to remind God and we sure do not have enough money to pay God! We do not have to beg God. We do not have to bargain with God. God does it because He loves us and because we are His children. Psalm 24:1 tells us that “God claims Earth and everything in it, God claims the World and all who live on it”.
Revisiting the thought that the earth is the Lord’s and that the Lord takes care of His own, we have to ask the question, why worry? We must face the fact that if God takes care of the birds, the flowers, and everything else on earth...why wouldn’t He take care of us? The flowers do not worry about whether they are going to bloom; the birds do not worry about how they will eat because God provides for them. We have to know that God loves us more than the flowers and the birds and that God has made provisions for us too! It is difficult because we think since we have been worrying for so long and the outcome hasn’t changed, there is no hope. Does worrying ease the tension or situation at hand? We know the answer. OF COURSE NOT! All it does is make us mad and frustrated, giving us a headache and other health issues, or it makes us do something that may not be good for us. Since worrying cannot change anything, WHY WORRY? The same God that faithfully cares for the birds and the flowers of the field is responsible for taking care of us and all of our needs! God is so faithful to us that no matter what state we are in, God will take of us! If we seek Him first, God will take care of the rest.
We must always remember that we are God’s children. Because of this, we have entered into a relationship with Him, and our Father does not treat His children like orphans! God cares for every one of us, and God will provide for us. WHY WORRY? God will take of us. While life does have its way of presenting us with some difficult situations, when we worry about tomorrow, we are missing out on today, not realizing that any problem can be handled with God’s help, if we keep Him first! The word tells us in Philippians 4:13, “I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am”, and then it tells us in Philippians 4:19 “You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus”. My friends I will ask loudly again, WHY WORRY? Let me remind you again my friends, God will take care of us.
On today and everyday friends, if you cast all your burdens on the Lord, He will take care of you. Do not worry, because God knows all about your troubles so, don’t give up the fight. The word tells us “When the going gets rough, take it on the chin with the rest of us, the way Jesus did. A soldier on duty doesn’t get caught up in making deals at the marketplace. He concentrates on carrying out orders.” (2 Timothy 2:3), and it also tells us to keep the faith, because “I took another walk around the neighborhood and realized that on this earth as it is—The race is not always to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor satisfaction to the wise, Nor riches to the smart, Nor grace to the learned. Sooner or later bad luck hits us all.” (Ecclesiastics 9:11). Friends, you do not have to worry, God will take of you, just seek him first! The Most High God has a reputation to uphold - Does he speak and not do what he says? Does he promise and not come through? (Numbers 23:19) It’s the word of God my friends.
Accept this gentle reminder to keep seeking the Most High God, keep praying, keep believing, keep trusting Him, and don’t worry because help is always on the way.
